Biocompounds has built a strong team in pharmaceutical process R&D and quality research, equipped with dedicated API R&D labs and a comprehensive quality control center. We have undertaken numerous innovation projects, been recognized as a Songjiang District Enterprise Technology Center, and obtained ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 certifications, consistently advancing a standardized R&D platform for chemical pharmaceuticals.

Guided by our mission of green processes and efficient manufacturing, and our vision to become a premier platform for process innovation and lean production, we focus on technology leadership, lean excellence, quality foundation, and cost efficiency. We apply first-principles thinking to refined management, driving full-process cost reduction and productivity gains.

Currently, our R&D is focused on cutting-edge areas including asymmetric synthesis, enzymatic processes, continuous flow, green chemistry, and circular economy, aiming to continuously enhance synthetic efficiency and environmental performance.


Biocompounds focuses on small-molecule APIs and advanced intermediates, covering therapeutic areas including anti-infective, central nervous system, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and oncology. We synergize upstream and downstream operations and prioritize key product development.

For each API and intermediate, we systematically conduct process parameter studies, impurity profiling, impurity synthesis, scale-up, process validation, and regulatory filing, leading to commercial production. Cost control, process safety, and waste reduction are core objectives in every project, translating green chemistry into measurable outcomes. Our QC center, aligned with ICH guidelines, systematically studies impurities (analogs, precursors, residual solvents, metals) in starting materials and intermediates, and establishes science-based control strategies as well as robust quality and stability study systems that meet global regulatory requirements, ensuring consistent batch-to-batch quality.

In terms of strategic implementation, we re-examine each synthetic route based on first principles, eliminating redundant steps to maximize raw material utilization and reaction efficiency. Through meticulous management, we reduce costs and increase efficiency throughout the entire process, from material selection and reaction optimization to waste treatment. The research and development achievements are quickly transferred to our subsidiaries, Anhui Biocompounds Chemicals Co., Ltd and Anhui Bocompounds Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd These two factories, located in Dongzhi, Anhui Province, cover a total area of 400 acres and possess various hazardous chemical use qualifications and dangerous reaction equipment. They continue to increase investment in technical safety, integrating the concept of "green, safe, efficient, and personnel-friendly" from the source of process design. They simultaneously advance the research of drugs and advanced intermediates under GMP standards in Shanghai and Anhui, creating a high-standard platform for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates.

Beyond in-house R&D, Biocompounds actively engages in industry-university-research collaborations with Fudan University, East China Normal University, Jiangsu University, and Shanghai University of Engineering Science. In 2016, we established an expert workstation focused on small-molecule innovative drugs and specialty intermediates, driving key technology breakthroughs, technology transfer, and team development.

Our CDMO team offers one-stop services—from process development, optimization, scale-up, analytical method development, technology transfer, to regulatory filing—backed by deep expertise in pharmaceutical chemistry and business development. We have built long-term partnerships with leading global innovative drug companies. Leveraging our Anhui manufacturing sites, we are actively executing CDMO projects and building a green pharmaceutical manufacturing platform.

Looking ahead, Biocompounds aims to develop high-end generics, explore green manufacturing routes, and enhance product quality. Supported by robust quality and EHS systems, we integrate R&D excellence into process design, impurity control, quality assurance, and green manufacturing. We are committed to evolving from a raw material supplier to a technology-driven partner.
